About Me

Mohammed Dahiru Abubakar is a versatile and dynamic leader with a great sense of responsibility and a wide range of diverse professional exposures. His capabilities and competencies span from his roles as an administrator, criminologist, police officer, intelligence officer, prosecutor, and investigator, to an entrepreneur. He has held several top management positions in the Nigeria Police and financial institutions for years. He was the first pioneer chairman of the NPF Pension Board from 2014 to 2018.

He was enlisted into the Nigeria Police as a cadet officer on July 31, 1979, and rose to become the 16th Inspector General of Police of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on 25th January 2012. He retired on 31st July 2014.

He belongs to several prominent professional associations including:

He has a Master Class Certificate in Business Management & Leadership from London Graduate School and a Doctor of Security Management Certificate Honoris Causa from Commonwealth University. He obtained an MBA in Marketing & Business Strategy from Hult International Business School, Boston.

He holds a Higher National Diploma in Public Administration from Sokoto State Polytechnic, Sokoto, as well as an Advanced Diploma in Law Enforcement Administration from the University of Lagos, Nigeria.

 He also obtained a Diploma in Disaster Management & Control from Israel and another Diploma in Criminal Justice Administration from the University of Lagos.

He is currently the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council at Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Kwara State, President of the Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI), and Chairman of the Board of Directors at Platinum Mortgage Bank.
